About this collection:
I made a journey through Ireland and Europe during 2019 as part of a quest to see whether I could 'feel' these stories in the lands which are so synonymous with faerietale within culture. Spending a month in Ireland then traveling across Europe eventually spending a month and a half in Poland, I read a large number of faerietales and myths both before and during my travels and followed the thread of stories along the way. A series of photographs has arisen from this journey (Breathing Stories | The Tower) and the journey itself took on its own tale of adventure... In true archetypal style it became a journey both interior and exterior. This story The Tower, in collaboration with Phoebe Rose Lines, is the first in the series arising, Breathing Stories.
Phoebe Rose Lines is a writer steeped in faerie tale. The language of story is written in her bones, and through this she explores the archetypes of our inner psychology. The Tower has emerged in response to Kate's images and is intended to be a distillation of essence that allows all of us to bring ourselves to the story.
